Community Leadership Training for Newly Arrived Residents
Sometimes on the train, out walking or at the shopping centre people from minority cultural groups experience hostile or unpleasant incidents that make them feel scared and unsafe. In such a situation it can be difficult to know how to respond and people can be left feeling helpless and afraid.
This three day workshop is designed to empower participants who experience violence, because of their cultural background, by developing skills and confidence to deal with difficult and challenging situations-to learn how to assess and address difficult incidents, to work with uncertainty and to adapt and thrive in challenging environments.
Dates: Friday to Sunday, May 13 – 15. NO COST. Major Road venue. Funded by the Office of Multiculturalism and Citizenship & Moreland City Council.
