Preserve your own Fruit and Vegetables. Bottling, pickling, dehydrating, jams, sauces. Sustainable Fawkner is running this workshop at the house. Learn from others, share your skills. Where? Fawkner Community House, When: Saturday 31st March 10am – 3pm Bookings: Call the house on 9357 4631 Places are limited. Bring a plate to share for lunch. Places are limited so please register before hand. Bring along your harvest fruit and vegetables to preserve.

First Aid – Level 2

This two day course teaches basic first aid to the acutely ill as well as for: wounds; burns; external bleeding; limb injuries; head, neck and spinal injuries; facial injuries; bites and stings; poisoning and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. COST: $10.00. Dates: Saturday, 2 & 9 June. Time: 9.00 am—5.00 pm. Funded by Moreland City Council.

Sustainable Fashion class starting

Fawkner Community House has just started a Sustainable fashion class in 2012. Do you have clothes that you cannot part with? Clothes that you love but cannot wear because they are outdated or simply don’t fit? Here is the Solution. Recycle, Revamp, Re-wear at a class on Wednesday night.

Movies in the Park at Fawkner

Free entertainment and G rated Film – Rio – will be screened in CB Smith Reserve in Fawkner on Friday 17 February 8pm onwards. When: Friday 17 Feburary 8 pm onwards Where: C B Smith Reserve, Jukes Road, Fawkner Parking: in CB Smith Reserve car park (enter via service road gate), or why not walk or ride a bicycle?

Interested in the History of Fawkner?

Fawkner Community House would like to set up a local history group of people who are interested in the history of Fawkner—how it formed; what is was like in the early days and how it has changed over time.
